Hi Barbara: We are just back from a magic two weeks arranged for us by you in Dubrovnik. We are so pleased with everything we almost don't know where to begin.

After almost 50 years of holidaying together (so we've been on some great holidays) we agree that Dubrovnik is our best ever destination. And your guidance during the planning and booking period contributed greatly to that. Your advice on the many questions we put to you turned out to be spot on!

Branka Brzica met us at the airport with a huge smiling welcome and saw us on to the Gulliver Travel minibus with a fluent English-speaking driver (who also took us on the return trip) and who was a great and patient source of information on our naive early questions. Next morning we had a long individual session with Branka which gave us a great introduction to all we needed to know and got our tours and trips organised. She quickly worked out the sort of people we are and was ready to advise that we didn't want to go on certain organised excursions: it was much cheaper to walk over to the harbour and catch the regular ferry!

The Komodor Hotel was brilliant. In itself a modest 3 star establishment, all its people, as we wrote in the hotel assessment, are five star. Welcoming, friendly, informative, helpful and effective. We felt like friends rather than "guests" or customers. Nothing is a trouble to them. They see themselves as being there to help us to have a great holiday.

The food was outstanding, huge choice, buffet style service but constantly replenished for freshness: serve yourself with as much and as many of the offerings as you wish, and do come back, and back, and back … . Perhaps a bit against your advice we opted for bed and breakfast (holiday hotel food can be indifferent), but after one night eating out and three enjoying the hotel dinners, thankfully Hidden Croatia made it straightforward for us to switch to the much more economical half-board tariff, One phone call to Branka was all it took.

The Komodor is superbly positioned so that you can enjoy three kinds of holiday in one. It's a ten minute bus ride from the hotel door to Dubrovnik City (bus tickets at Reception), and the city is stunning. We spent days on a City Break. It's twenty minutes' walk and ferry ride (or two buses if you're tired) from the ferry port, where we went to spend a few days island-hopping. and the islands are stunning and different. And finally, it's just across the road from the beach, where we spent a few days sitting up to our necks in the Adriatic, warm as a bath. (And if getting to the beach was too strenuous, the hotel pool was right there under our window.

Dear Barbara,

I don't make a habit of writing on return from holidays, in fact I've never written before. However, I just had to contact you to say we had the most superb nine days in Sipan made by the help provided by Hidden Croatia and Branka Brzica's organisation and support, especially when we were diverted to Split and ended up arriving very late in Dubrovnik. Branka had everything under control ( in marked contrast to the experience of others on the coache) and got us safely onto the last ferry to the island!

The hotel was a bit chaotic but again the staff more than made up for any shortfalls in organisation. They were all so friendly and went out of their way to help whenever we needed it - even arranging our rescue when our Kiyak was blown out to sea!!

Over the past few years we've had some great holidays across Europe, Australia and Canada but this was a wonderful holiday that we'll be repeating next year.

Just wanted to let you know that we returned on Monday after a really fabulous fortnight in Croatia. Our first week at Zaton Bay was fantastic. Ivana's guest house was lovely and we were looked after so well. Zaton Bay is beautiful and the sea was lovely. The week would not have been nearly so good had it not been for our brilliant two guides, Mica and Maya. They are two lovely people - very interesting, kind and good fun. The sea kayaking was great if not a little tiring. The scenery is amazing. We had a really good group - mixed but everyone got on so well and we took 100s of photos.

The second week we did our own thing and stayed in an apartment 10 mins. walk from the old city. But we booked another day with Huck Finn with Mica as our guide and we went into Bosnia river canoeing and visiting Mostar. So interesting as that town was featured in Michael Palin's latest travel program and the two guys we were with jumped off the bridge. Help!! But they were ok thank goodness.

We learnt a lot aboout the area. I have never been anywhere which is spotlessly clean!

From our first helpful contact with you & your guidance as to the Croatian possibilities all was plain sailing.

We were met & looked after properly at every stage & even welcomed with a Croatian aperitive at your Dubrovnik office on our arrival when a full induction was given by Ariana in the friendliest fashion.

The decision to explore the wonders of Dubrovnik whilst staying on a delightful & peaceful island, Lopud, just a few miles offshore proved to have been a wise one, for retreating to the Villa Vilina after some intensive sight-seeing was greatly to be looked-forward to.

This 4-star hotel left nothing to be desired - delightful owner, competent & friendly staff & the most excellent food at sensible prices. Best fillet steak I`ve had in years & breakfasts worth shortening a night`s sleep for !

Clear blue Adriatic water to swim in - exhillerating hill walks across the island - kayaking for the energetic - cruising along the fabulous Dalmation coast - or just relaxing in the Villa`s

spacious apartments & terrace make for a great holiday. If the hotel could produce fishing rods life would have been perfect !

Hidden Croatia have revealed one of their secrets to us & I suspect there are many more to be discovered.

All in all , a thoroughly-enjoyable holiday.

We just wanted to say thank you for a very enjoyable holiday in Dubrovnik. Thanks to Ariana, and all the tour guides. Everyone very helpful and the tours very interesting. About restaurants; Proto - probably the best fish restaurant in the area; Mimoza opposite the Hilton Imperial very good and welcoming. But Nautika, although in a great location, has crazy prices. We found that Mimoza is about one third of the typical price for a meal at Nautika.

I have been meaning to get in touch to say what a wonderful time we had at the Bracka Perla - we just loved it. The kids are back at school now and it already seems a long time ago but we loved the little hotel and the pool and the sea beyond. It was all beautifully designed - I think you are on to a real winner there. We made some lovely friends a German Australian family who had discovered it on the internet so it was all a great success and even the weather was good! (The last three holidays we have had in the med we have had rain!)

The only downside was the journey home - we had a delay at Split of eight hours which was pretty grim but next time hopefully we won't travel around a bank holiday weekend.

Now that we have unpacked, caught up with multitude of post holiday tasks and downloaded the holiday photos to the computer, Zoé and I would like to thank you for looking after us during our very recent visit to Dubrovnik.

We appreciated the briefing that you gave us on our first morning at the hotel; it stood us in good stead throughout our stay and we had just the right amount and variety of things to do while we were based at the Aquarius Hotel. In addition to exploring the Old Town most days, we swam from four beaches, without getting pricked by a sea-urchin, as well as taking three ferry trips to Lopkrum, the Eliphite Islands and Cavtat, attending two classical music concerts and watching the fireworks display to mark the opening of the Dubrovnik Festival. The opening concert by the Tschaikovsky 'laureates' was wonderful, especially so in the historic venue of the Rector's Palace.

Our thanks again for helping to make this one of our most enjoyable 'child-free' holidays. They can go to Cuba, we'll take Croatia!

All in all we had a truly wonderful holiday and wanted to say thanks again - we thought the Hidden Croatia reps were extremely nice and helpful while we were over there - we were met promptly at the airport by Ariana and whisked away in our taxi, and then Ariana came to visit us and explained lots of useful things for our stay. Ivana was also really helpful by phone with our ferry crossings and the journey from Cavtat to Hvar town - I think she was a bit worried about us doing it and kept in close touch till we got safely to Hvar. So - you've all been wonderful and many, many thanks again!

Having been to Croatia many times, I decided to act on Kate's suggestion that I try staying in private B&B accommodation just outside Dubrovnik in Zaton Mali. For just 25 Euros per night, I got a clean, comfortable room that opened up practically onto the water's edge, with a choice of two very local restaurants that grilled fish that had literally been pulled from the water moments before. Many thanks to Kate and Ariana for making the trip an experience I will never forget!!

Never done anything like this before and had an amazing time. Stayed in village called Korana with wonderful areas to swim 10 minutes walk away. Plitvice lakes are beautiful beyond belief but kayaking in an area consisting of canyon like views was my highlight. The guides were really lovely and work hard. I am 53 and reasonably fit and coped juist fine. No night life - but by then all I wanted was sleep. Same for the younger members of or party.

We went on a 10 day backpacking trip. Started in Split, headed over to Brac, Hvar, and then ended in Dubrovnik. Had a brilliant time, and my only regret was that I didn't have more time to spend visiting the rest of this amazing county. The accommodation we stayed in was basic ( we were on a budget ) but was always easy to find, and very clean. The Croatians we met on the way were very friendly and willing to help with anything .Scenery was amazing, food amazing, weather amazing, and can't wait to go again!!!!

I had no real idea of what to expect from Croatia apart from friends telling me of it's beauty. All I knew about the scenery was the water being crystal clear. Nothing prepared me for the beautiful clear blue skies, stunning historical town of Hvar, diverse flora and the warm turquoise blue crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea. The people were very friendly, the food tantalisingly tasty (if you're a seafood lover) and the accommodation excellent..... A perfect beach holiday!!!!
