of the largest of the central Dalmatian Islands and the third largest in
the Adriatic, the resort of Bol offers its visitors a wealth of small untouched
coves and glorious beaches, including the famous Zlatni Rat, or Golden Horn
Beach. You’ll also find an exciting range of water sports.
Wherever you stay on Brac, you cannot fail to notice the striking white stone. Still mined today, it has been used in the construction of many prestigious buildings, from Diocletian’s Palace in Split to the White House in Washington. It imparts a classical beauty to the island’s shores, where pine trees spill onto beaches lapped by a vivid turquoise sea.
The countryside is exquisite. Brac is lush and green: olive groves and vineyards produce fine oil and wine and an abundance of sour cherries and almonds. A holiday on Brac is an unforgettable experience.
Things to do on Brac
Head for St Vid church on Mount Vidova Gora. The highest peak on the island, it affords spectacular views over the whole island, as well as its neighbour, Hvar – take your camera! Skrip, the oldest settlement on the island, is home to the Brac Museum. Housed in the Radojkovic Tower, this is one of the island’s ‘must-see’ destinations. In Bol, discover the art of Branislav Deskovic (1883- 1939) in the gallery dedicated to his work, or visit the beautiful 15th Century Dominican monastery... Above all, simply relax and enjoy the ambience of this enchanting island.
